Salted White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Salted White Chocolate Chip Cookies are a delicious combination of salty and sweet flavors in a chewy cocoa butter chip cookie.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Butter room temperature
  • 3/4 cup Sugar plus 2 add'l tablespoons
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup White Chocolate Chips
  • 2 tablespoons Salt Flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Use the paddle attachment on a stand mixer to cream the butter and sugar on medium-high speed until fluffy. Add in the egg and almond extract and mix until just combined.
  • In a small bowl whisk the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt together. Add the mixture to the mixer and beat on medium-low speed until combined.
  • Turn the mixer to low and mix in the white chocolate chips.
  • Shape the dough into 2-inch sized round balls and place on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle the tops of the dough with salt flakes. Chill the dough in the fridge for about 15 minutes or until the dough has cooled.
  • Bake for 11 minutes (They will look like they're not done, but I promising you this is how you get chewy texture). Remove from the oven and sprinkle with sea salt. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes and then transfer to a baking rack.

Notes

  • Chill the cookie dough on the prepared baking sheet for 15 minutes before placing them into the oven. This helps them from spreading.
  • I prefer to use salt flakes for these cookies instead of coarse salt because I like the way they look on top of the cookies and feel like you get a little more salty flavor.
