Little Smokies Wrapped in Bacon Recipe

Coated in a brown sugar glaze, these Little Smokies Wrapped in Bacon are a delicious party appetizer that will be gone before the platter is on the table. Making this little smokie recipe is a simple crowd-pleaser.

Equipment

  • Rimmed Baking Sheet
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Small Mixing Bowl
  • Toothpicks

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Little Smokies
  • 1 lb Bacon
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley chopped
  • Cooking Spray

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375ºF and line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a baking rack on top of the foil and coat with cooking spray.
  • In a small bowl combine the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper until fully mixed.
  • Cut or slice the bacon into thirds.
  • Wrap each Little Smokie with bacon and insert a toothpick to hold it in place. Then dredge the Little Smokie into the brown sugar mixture making sure to coat it evenly.
  • Repeat and place the Little Smokies onto the prepared baking sheet. Leave some space between each one.
  • Bake for 15 minutes then carefully use the toothpick to flip them over and cook for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until the bacon becomes slightly crispy. Place on a serving platter and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.

Notes

You can remove the toothpicks (carefully) before serving if you'd like.
