Equipment

  • Measuring Cup
  • tea kettle or small saucepan
  • small mesh sieve
  • Pitcher

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Water divided
  • 4 teaspoons Loose Lavender Tea
  • 3/4 cup Honey or sweetener of choice
  • 1 cup Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

Instructions

  • Place the loose lavender tea into a large measuring cup or tea strainer. Bring 1 cup of the water to a boil and pour into the measuring cup with the lavender tea.
  • Add the honey to the measuring cup and stir until the honey or sweetener of choice is dissolved completely. Allow the tea to steep for about 10 minutes.
  • Strain the mixture through a small mesh sieve into a pitcher and mix in the lemon juice and 2 cups of cold water.
  • Serve over ice with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Loose Lavender Tea: you will need loose lavender tea to prepare this drink.
  • A little lavender goes a long way. Don't add too much or the flavoring will be overpowering.
  • For a more tart and tangy lemonade add more lemon juice.
  • If you find the flavor of the lemonade to be too strong you can dilute it will cold water. Try 1/2 cup of cold water at a time and continue to add until the perfect flavor is reached.
  • To make a beautiful purple-colored lemonade use lavender syrup and sugar as a sweetener instead of honey.
  • Make lavender lemonade popsicles. Pour the lemonade mixture into popsicle molds and freezer for a delicious icy treat.

Garnish Ideas

  • Fresh Lavender Sprigs: you can place an edible lavender sprig in each glass or top it off with some of the loose lavender tea.
  • Lemon: add some lemon slices to a glass pitcher for a beautiful presentation.
