Equipment

  • Instant Pot

Ingredients

Marinade

  • 3/4 cup Beef Broth
  • 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper

Ribs

  • 3 to 4 Lbs Country Style Ribs
  • 3/4 cup Barbecue Sauce

Instructions

  • Add the beef broth, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to a small bowl and whisk to combine.
  • Place the ribs in a shallow dish and pour your marinade on top. Cover and place in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour. Don’t leave it for longer — the vinegar tenderizes the meat.
  • Transfer the ribs and marinade to your Instant Pot and secure the lid on top. Set the valve to the “sealing” position and press the “manual” cook button. Set the timer to 14 minutes.
  • When your country style pork ribs in the Instant Pot are done cooking, turn the valve to the release position and allow it to release for 10 minutes. Carefully remove the lid when it’s done.
  • Place the cooked ribs on a baking sheet and brush the barbecue sauce all over.
  • Set your oven to broil and place the baking sheet in the oven for a few minutes so the ribs crisp up, then dig in!

Notes

  • Don’t skip the BBQ sauce. Slathering your ribs before broiling them will ensure that they don’t dry out.
  • Trim the fat. If you buy a particularly fatty cut of meat, be sure to trim it before marinating.
  • Use bone-in or boneless. Both cuts of meat will work for country style ribs in the Instant Pot. Use whatever you can find!

Storage and or Freezing Instructions

  • Make-ahead instructions: You can make your ribs up to 3 days before serving. Simply follow the instructions above until Step 4, then place the ribs in an airtight container and store them in the fridge. Before serving, place them on the baking sheet with the BBQ sauce and broil as instructed.
  • Freezing instructions: I recommend vacuum sealing your completely cooled ribs before placing them in the freezer. When stored properly they will keep for up to 3 months. Allow them to thaw in the fridge before reheating them in your oven.
  • Storage instructions: Place any leftover ribs in an airtight container in the fridge. They will keep for 3-4 days.
