- 1½ ounces Tequila
- 1 ounce Orange Liqueur such as Triple Sec or Cointreau
- 2 ounces Lime Juice
- 1 ounce Raspberry Syrup or Simple Syrup or Agave
- 1/2 cup Raspberries
- 1/2 cup Ice Cubes
Coat the glass rim. Run a lime wedge around the edge of the glass to coat it in lime juice. This will help adhere the salt to the rim.
Salt the rim. Pour some coarse salt into a shallow and flat dish and dip the coated edges of the glass in the salt making sure to coat the entire rim.
Blend. Add all of the ingredients with a 1/2 cup of ice to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour directly into the prepared glass or serve it over ice.
- For a smoother texture - muddle the raspberries in a cocktail strainer and then add all the ingredients. Shake with ice and strain into your prepared glass.
- Make it into a pitcher - multiply the ingredient amount by 4 or slide the serving size on the recipe card up to your desired amount for a full pitcher.
- Turn it into a frozen margarita - use frozen raspberries and increase the amount of ice to 1 1/2 cups.
Variations
- Add some spice - add some fresh jalapeno to the blender before blending all the ingredients for a spicy kick. Be sure to add a few rings of fresh jalapeno to garnish the glass as well.
- Blend in more berries - you can change up the raspberries to blueberries, or you can make it into a mixed-berry margarita.
- Coat the rim in sugar - instead of salting the rim of your raspberry margarita use coarse sugar. If making it for the holiday use colored sugar crystals.
