Equipment

  • Cocktail Spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Vodka
  • 2 ounces Pineapple Juice
  • 1 ounce Lemon Juice
  • 2 teaspoons Grenadine

Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients. Pour the vodka or gin, pineapple juice, lemon juice, and grenadine into a mixing glass.
  • Chill the mixture. Add some ice to the mixture and stir it in to chill the ingredients.
  • Strain. Using a strainer, strain the mixture into cocktail glasses filled with ice.

Notes

  • Gin or vodka? Though it is unclear whether the original azalea drink had gin or vodka, the most common versions of the recipe contain vodka. Use your favorite or the two and you can't go wrong.
  • Adjust the grenadine to taste: The amount of grenadine used in the cocktail can vary depending on personal preference. Start with a splash and add more as needed, tasting as you go. You can even make your own Homemade Grenadine or if you don't have any use some of these Grenadine Substitutes.
  • Garnish with a lemon wheel: A slice of lemon on the rim of the glass or a lemon wheel in the drink can add a pop of color.
