Beer Margarita

The Beer Margarita is a refreshing and zesty twist on two classic drinks. The sweet and tangy flavors of a margarita mix are perfectly balanced with the smooth and crisp taste of a cold beer. It's like a delicious and boozy fiesta for your taste buds!

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces Tequila
  • 2 ounces Orange Liqueur
  • 2 ounces Lime Juice
  • 2 tablespoons Agave
  • 8 ounces Lager Beer

Instructions

  • Coat the glass rim. Run a lime wedge along the edge of each glass rim, making sure to coat it evenly.
  • Salt the rim. Pour coarse salt or margarita salt into a shallow bowl for a flat dish. Dredge the coated glass rim into the salt until the rim is fully covered in salt.
  • Prepare the margarita. In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and agave.
  • Shake and strain. Add ice and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds. Fill two glasses with ice and strain the margarita mix evenly into each glass.
  • Top it off. Pour the lager beer into the glasses and gently stir the mixture with a long spoon to combine.

Notes

  • Don't overmix: When adding the beer, stir the mixture gently just until combined. Overmixing can cause the beer to foam up and lose its carbonation.
  • Use a shaker: To ensure your margarita is well-mixed, use a cocktail shaker instead of stirring in the glass.
  • Use a light beer: A light lager or Mexican beer is a good choice for a beer margarita. Avoid using heavy or strongly flavored beers, which can overpower the other ingredients.
  • Adjust the sweetness: The amount of agave syrup you use will depend on your personal preference and the sweetness of your beer. Start with less and add more as needed. You can also use Simple Syrup or honey as a substitute.
