Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Vodka
  • tablespoon Triple Sec
  • 1 ounce Lemon Juice
  • tablespoons Simple Syrup

Sugared Rim

  • 2 tablespoons Coarse Sugar
  • Lemon Wedge

Instructions

  • Prepare the Glass (Optional). Take a lemon wedge and run it along the rim of a chilled martini glass to moisten it. Pour some sugar onto a small plate and dip the rim of the glass into the sugar on the plate, rotating it to coat the entire rim with sugar.
  • Mix the Cocktail. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the vodka, triple sec, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and simple syrup into the shaker.
  • Shake and Strain. Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds to chill and thoroughly mix the ingredients. Using a cocktail strainer, strain the mixture from the shaker into the prepared martini glass.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Lemon Juice: Always use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best flavor. Avoid using bottled lemon juice as it may contain preservatives or artificial flavors that can affect the taste of your cocktail.
  • Chill Your Ingredients: Chill your vodka, triple sec, and lemon juice in the refrigerator before making your cocktail to ensure a cold and refreshing drink.
  • Rim the Glass (Optional): Rimming the glass with sugar is optional, but it adds a sweet touch to the cocktail. If you decide to rim the glass, use superfine sugar or regular granulated sugar for the best results.
  • Garnish with a Lemon Twist: Adding a lemon twist as a garnish not only looks elegant but also adds a burst of lemon aroma to your cocktail. Twist the lemon peel over the drink to release its oils before dropping it in for extra flavor.
