Bahn mi Hot Dogs
Famed Vietnamese sandwich with all delicious flavors of pickled vegetables, chili peppers, and a sriracha mayonnaise sauce in hot dog form. These Bahn mi Hot Dogs are a unique way to add different hot dog toppings to a classic meal.

Pickled Vegetables
- 1/2 cup Rice Vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/2 cup Carrots sliced or in matchstick-shape
- 1/2 cup Daikon Radishes
Hot Dogs
- 2 Baguettes sliced to bun length
- 2 teaspoons Oil
- 5 Pork Bratwurst or hot dogs
- 1/4 cup English Cucumber sliced
- 1 Jalapeno seeded and sliced
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Cilantro chopped
Sriracha Mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Lime Juice
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha Sauce
Pickled Vegetables
In a small bowl whisk the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt together until fully dissolved.
Place the carrots and radishes into a jar that can be sealed with an air-tight lid. Pour the vinegar mixture on top and seal. Allow vegetables to ferment for at least 3 hours and up to 3 days before using.
Hot Dogs
Heat oil in a large iron or heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat and add the bratwurst links. Cook for about 5 minutes, turning occasionally until each link is fully cooked or reaches an internal temp of 165 ℉.
Whisk the mayonnaise, lime juice, and sriracha together in a small bowl.
Slice the baguettes into bun-length pieces and then slice down the center, without cutting all the way through the bread, to form a bun.
Place some of the pickled vegetables into each bun and top with cooked bratwurst. Drizzle the Sriracha Mayo on top and layer with cucumbers, jalapeno slices, and cilantro.
