Pumpkin Martini

As you sip this rich and creamy cocktail you can debate over whether it's similar to a spiked pumpkin spice latte or pumpkin pie in a glass. This Pumpkin Martini is made with real pumpkin puree, sweetened with maple syrup, spiced with pumpkin pie spice, and spiked with vodka and rum for one indulgent cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces Vodka
  • ounce Dark Rum
  • 1/4 cup Pumpkin Puree
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream divided
  • 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice

Instructions

  • Add the ingredients to a shaker. Add some ice to a cocktail shaker and pour the vodka, rum, pumpkin puree, heavy cream, maple syrup, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice in.
  • Shake and strain. Shake vigorously for about 10 to 15 seconds. Strain the mixture into a martini glass.
  • Add the whipped cream. You can prepare your own Whipped Cream or use store-bought and pipe it directly on top. To flash-free the whipped cream (which will allow it to float in your glass) place two scoops of the whipped topping onto a small baking sheet or cutting board and place it in the freezer for about 5 to 10 minutes.

Notes

  • Strain for a smooth texture. Achieve martini perfection with a silky-smooth texture. To create the smoothest Pumpkin Martini, I highly recommend straining the martini as you pour it into your glass.
  • Chill your glass. A chilled glass keeps the cocktail colder for longer, preventing premature warming, and also adds a delightful frosty touch to the velvety drink.
  • Make a large batch for a crowd. If you're hosting a gathering, you can batch the ingredients in advance and serve your Pumpkin Pie Martinis in a pitcher, allowing guests to help themselves. Just give the drink a good stir before pouring it into your glass.
  • Garnish the rim. Coat the rim of your glass in Simple Syrup or Maple Syrup and then dredge it into some graham cracker crumbs or brown sugar. You can also add a cinnamon stick or a dusting of Pumpkin Pie Spice.
