Equipment

  • Espresso Machine or Nespresso, or coffee maker.
  • Milk Frother
  • small mesh sieve

Ingredients

Strawberry Syrup

  • 3/4 cup Strawberries chopped
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2/3 cup Water

Latte

  • 2 ounces Espresso or cold brew coffee
  • 2 ounces Strawberry Syrup
  • 1 cup Whole Milk

Instructions

  • Place the chopped strawberries, sugar, and water into a small saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and allow the mixture to simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve, without pressing it down, and discard the sediment. Allow the syrup to cool completely before preparing the latte.
  • Pour the espresso or chilled coffee into the bottom of a tall glass and top it with strawberry syrup. Fill the glass with ice.
  • Using a milk frother or a wire whisk froth the milk and pour over the ice. Spoon the frothy top of the milk onto the latte and garnish with a fresh strawberry.

Notes

  • Turn it into a dessert. I highly recommend topping off your iced strawberry latte with some whipped cream. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and strawberries for a delicious treat. Alternatively, you can turn it into a float by adding a scoop of ice cream.
  • Add some fresh strawberries. Slice or chop up some fresh strawberries and add them to your glass for more flavor and a beautiful presentation.
  • Froth your milk using a milk frother. This is entirely optional but will give the milk a nice foamy topping that can be spooned on top of your drink. Either a handheld frother or an electric one will work.
  • Store leftover strawberry syrup in an air-tight container or jar with a lid in the fridge. It will last up to 2 weeks.
