Ingredients

  • 1/2 ounce Frangelico
  • 1/2 ounce Vanilla Vodka
  • 2 teaspoons Heavy Cream optional
  • Frosting for garnish, optional
  • Cocoa Powder for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • Frost the rim (optional). Gently coat the rim of your shot glass with a thin layer of frosting, ensuring even coverage. Alternatively, you can smear the frosting on a flat surface and dip the rim of the glass into it for a delightful finish.
  • Dip the rim in cocoa powder (optional). Dip the frosted rim of the shot glass into some cocoa powder, making sure the entire rim is coated.
  • Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Fill a shaker with ice and add Frangelico, vanilla vodka, and heavy cream if using to the shaker. Shake the shaker vigorously for about 10 seconds. Strain it into the prepared shot glass.

Notes

  • Layering Technique: To achieve the distinct layered effect of the shot (resembling a chocolate cake), pour the Frangelico first and then gently layer the vanilla vodka on top. You can use the back of a spoon to help with layering.
  • Chilled Glass: For extra chill, place the shot glass in the freezer for a few minutes before assembling the shot. A cold glass enhances the overall experience.
  • Experiment with Garnishes: Get creative with garnishes! Try adding a small lemon wedge or a sprinkle of sugar to simulate the "cake" experience. You can also use whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
  • Variations: Feel free to experiment with different liqueurs or flavored vodkas to create your unique twist on the Chocolate Cake Shot. Amaretto or Irish cream liqueurs can also work well in this type of shot.
