Equipment

Ingredients

Balsamic Strawberries

  • 1 pint Strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper

Whipped Goat Cheese Toast

  • 10 ounces Goat Cheese softened
  • 3 ounces Cream Cheese softened
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 loaf Sourdough Bread

Instructions

Balsamic Strawberries

  • Prepare the strawberries. Hull and slice the strawberries and place them in a bowl or large jar. Pour the balsamic vinegar, honey, and ground black pepper into the bowl and toss the strawberries to coat. Let them soak in the vinegar mixture for about 20 minutes, tossing them occasionally.

Toast

  • Prepare the goat cheese spread. Place the softened goat cheese and cream cheese into a food processor. Add the honey and black pepper. Pulse the mixture until it becomes light and fluffy.
  • Arrange the toast. Slice and toast the sourdough bread. Then spread a generous layer of whipped goat cheese onto each slice. Spoon the balsamic strawberries on top.

Notes

  • Use a mini food processor if you have one. Since this recipe makes about a cup of goat cheese spread a smaller food processor whips the mixture easier and more evenly.
  • Adjust the texture. If you prefer creamier or softer whipped goat cheese, you can add a small amount of cream or milk while whipping. This can help achieve a smoother consistency.
  • Use softened cheese. It's essential to start with softened goat cheese at room temperature. This allows for easier whipping and ensures a smoother consistency.
