Equipment

  • Espresso Machine or French Press
  • Frother optional

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Add espresso. Pour the prepared espresso into the glass first.
  • Sweeten. Pour the maple syrup over the espresso.
  • Top with steamed milk. Pour the milk into a small saucepan and heat it on medium heat until scalded, but not boiling. Using a frother, froth the milk until a layer of foam forms on top. As you pour the milk in ensure you keep the foam from entering by using a spoon. Then use the spoon to scoop the foam on top.

Notes

For the perfect espresso, you've got options. An espresso machine ensures consistency and authenticity, while a Nespresso offers convenience without sacrificing flavor. If you're feeling rustic, choose a robust dark roast and brew it in a French Press for a full-bodied result. And when you're in a hurry, instant espresso serves as a quick and convenient substitute.
