Equipment

  • Cocktail Mixing Glass

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Bourbon
  • 1 - 2 teaspoons Maple Syrup
  • 2 - 3 dashes Angostrua Bitters
  • Orange Peel

Instructions

  • Mix the cocktail. Add the maple syrup and bitters to a cocktail mixing glass and top with ice. Pour the bourbon over the ice and stir to combine.
  • Strain. Strain the mixture into a glass and add a large ice cube.
  • Garnish. Take a vegetable peeler or a knife, and extract a 2- to 3-inch segment of orange peel. Infuse the drink with its zesty essence by gently twisting the peel, then garnish your beverage with this vibrant twist.

Notes

Add cherries. I often like to add a Luxardo cherry for garnish. They have a thick syrup. To avoid overly sweetening your cocktail, tap or rinse off the excess syrup before adding the cherry.
