Savor the harmonious fusion of rich, aromatic espresso and velvety, golden honey in this Honey Latte. Delight in the symphony of flavors as the robust coffee notes dance with the natural sweetness of honey, creating a warm, comforting embrace for your taste buds.
I love a super sweet latte such as a Caramel Latte sometimes, but often I prefer something simple such as a Breve Latte. This honey latte is both subtle in sweetness and bold in flavor.
What I Love About This Recipe
- Satisfying Warmth – The Honey Latte warms you from the inside out. It’s the ideal drink for a pick-me-up in the morning or a comforting treat during a break in your day.
- Rich Coffee Flavor – The espresso or coffee base provides a bold and rich flavor profile. It’s a coffee-lover dream, with the honey adding depth and complexity to the overall taste.
- Easy to Make – Making this latte at home is relatively simple. You don’t need any specialized equipment, and it’s a quick and easy way to enjoy a coffeehouse-quality drink without leaving your kitchen.
How to Make a Honey Latte
- Add the honey and espresso. Drizzle the honey around the edge of the glass and on the bottom. Pour the espresso into the prepared glass and stir gently.
- Steam or froth the milk. Pour the milk into a small saucepan and heat it on medium heat until scalded, but not boiling. If you have a frother you can then froth the milk next or follow these guidelines on How to Froth Milk. Pour the milk into the glass and fill it almost to the very top.
- Reserve the foam. As you pour the milk into the mug, ensure that you keep the foam from entering by using a spoon. Then scoop out the foam and add it to the top.
- Heat the Milk Properly: When steaming or heating the milk, be cautious not to overheat it. Heat it to about 150-160°F (65-71°C) for the ideal latte texture. Use a milk thermometer if available.
- Frothing Milk: If you have a milk frother, use it to froth the milk. This will create a creamy and velvety texture. If you don’t have a frother, you can shake the milk vigorously in a tightly sealed container or use a whisk to create froth manually.
- Add some flavored syrups. To sweeten or add flavor to your latte you can mix in a flavored syrup such as Hazelnut Syrup, Vanilla Syrup, or even a Simple Syrup.
- No espresso machine? For an authentic flavor, use an espresso machine, or opt for convenience with a Nespresso machine. If you prefer a rustic touch, a robust dark roast brewed in a French Press does the trick. When time’s short, instant espresso makes for a quick and easy substitute. Enjoy your lusciously creamy brew!
