Pear Martini

Delight in the Pear Martini, a harmonious blend of vodka and the luscious, fragrant notes of ripe pears sweetened with simple syrup and brightened with lemon juice.

The pear martini is a sophisticated drink, similar to the elegance of the French Martini, but has a fall essence like the Pomegranate Martini. It’s the perfect Thanksgiving drink especially if followed by a Pumpkin Martini for dessert.

What I Love About This Drink

  • The perfect fall cocktail. The rich, sweet flavor of pears is at its peak during the fall, making it a perfect choice for seasonal cocktails. This cocktail version also includes muddling fresh pears into the mixture for a true sip of the season (similar to the Raspberry Daiquiri).
  • Not overly sweet. The natural sweetness of pears provides a well-balanced taste that’s not overly sugary, appealing to a wide range of palates. This subtle flavor is what makes it a great martini to pair with dinner.
  • Elegant presentation. Serving Pear Martinis in chilled, stemmed glasses adds an elegant touch to your fall gatherings especially if you garnish it with fresh pear slices.

  1. Muddle the pears. Add the chopped pears and Simple Syrup to a cocktail shaker and muddle them together using a muddler. This extracts the fresh pear juice and flavor.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients. Pour the pear vodka and lemon juice into the cocktail shaker and fill it halfway with ice.
  3. Shake and strain. Shake the contents vigorously for about 10 seconds before straining them into a chilled cocktail glass (preferably a coupe glass).

Recipe Variations

  • Include elderflower liqueur. Some versions of the pear martini contain a 1-ounce elderflower liqueur (such as St-Germain), which adds a floral flavor.
  • Use maple syrup. Instead of using simple syrup, you can use Maple Syrup for added fall flavor.
  • Try adding rosemary. Swap the simple syrup for Rosemary Syrup for a unique twist.
