Savor the flavorful embrace of autumn with the Pumpkin Spice Margarita. A sip of fall in a glass, this cocktail takes the traditional margarita and blends it with seasonal spices and pumpkin.
Fall cocktails are the perfect toast to the season, which is why I love including themed drinks such as the Apple Cider Margarita or a Pumpkin Spice Margarita when planning for Thanksgiving.

How to Make a Pumpkin Spice Margarita
- Coat the glass rim. Grab a lime wedge and run it along the rim of your glass, using fresh, zesty juice.
- Dredge the glass rim. Spread some cinnamon and sugar on a plate or flat surface. Dip the lime-coated rim of the glass into the mixture. Gently move it back and forth while applying light pressure to ensure it sticks.
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Pour the tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, Maple Syrup, Pumpkin Pie Spice, and pumpkin puree into a cocktail shaker. Fill it halfway with ice.
- Shake and strain. Shake the mixture vigorously for about 10 seconds and strain it over ice into the prepared glass.
Recipe Variations
- Use Pumpkin Syrup: some versions use Pumpkin Syrup instead of pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice. To do this use 2 to 3 tablespoons of the syrup instead.
