What I Love About This Recipe

  • Memorable Moments: Enjoying a Black Martini creates a memorable and sophisticated drinking experience, perfect for special occasions, especially Halloween.
  • Versatile: It can be customized to suit various preferences, from sweeter to more robust by adjusting the ingredients.
  • Common Ingredients: Many of my black cocktails use activated charcoal, even my Black Lemonade, but this drink uses black food coloring and common mixers.

How to Make a Black Martini

  1. Mix the spirits. Pour vodka, Chambord, Cranberry Juice, and food coloring into your cocktail shaker, then generously fill it halfway with ice.
  2. Shake and strain. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain the cocktail into a chilled martini glass.

  1. Add soda. Pour ginger beer or lemon-lime soda on top of the cocktail and garnish with a blackberry or orange peel.

Recipe Variations

  • Use activated charcoal. Instead of using food coloring you can use activated charcoal like I do in my Black Margarita and Black Mojito. It won’t alter the flavor and turns the drink an inky black.
  • Black Vodka. There are several brands of black vodka you can use instead of the food coloring, which will result in the same dark coloring.
